What kind of life do i want




















If you are not growing you are dying; so there always needs to be an area in which you need to invest and nurture. In my quest to grow into my potential I have contextually framed the life I want to lead. By contextually I mean high level things; being relaxed and calm most of the time , succeeding first at home, being present in the moment, taking responsibility always, feeling abundant and free of addiction.

I'm heavily invested in moving towards this vision and now see some of the habits I have created as barriers to achieving this. So I know if I want to make a choice in one area of life, all my other choices need to be congruent. I'll give you an example: I used to love a punt on the footy to spice up the Friday night game. As harmless as this may sound, I came to realise it was incongruent to me feeling calm and being present with my family.

So after a decade of a bet or two each weekend, I gave it up without hesitation. Establishing this contextual vision has also allowed me to make choices that I otherwise would not have made, from regular random acts of kindness to arriving home by 6pm making it the rule rather than the exception.

For example , On the recommendation of a friend I went to a free acro-yoga class. There needs to be some fun in your life. What types of fun activities get you the most jazzed up? When you think about it, Netflix is most likely not something that you consider super fun, but something you do to veg out for a while.

What do you find seriously fun that you want more of in your life? But think about where you want to live for the next few years of your life. Somewhere with seasons? Warm all the time? What kind of nightlife? Come hang out in Austin instead. The type of work you do needs to fit that image of your ideal life.
